MANILA, Philippines — Of all the Delta variant cases detected in the country, 83 were among the unvaccinated against COVID-19, the Department of Health (DOH) said Monday.
So far, the Philippines has detected 450 cases of the Delta variant, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said.
“Thirty-five cases have received two doses of the vaccine, 17 have received one dose, while 83 cases were (among those) not vaccinated. The rest are still being verified,” Vergeire said in an online media briefing.
Of the Delta variant cases, 355 are local cases, 69 are returning overseas Filipinos, and 26 are still being verified.
Most of the cases or 426 have already recovered, while 13 are still active cases. Ten cases have already died while one is still being verified, Vergeire said.
More than half of 55% are males, she added.
Vergeire said 13 out of 17 regions in the country have detected local cases of the feared variant first detected in India.
The DOH earlier said the Delta variant has been detected in all cities and the lone municipality in Metro Manila.
