MANILA, Philippines — Manila Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna found out on Sunday afternoon that she had tested positive for COVID-19.
Lacuna, a physician, made the announcement, which the Manila Public Information Office posted on Facebook.
In Filipino, she said: “In spite of my extreme care, I really did not expect this saddening result. Because of this, I will need to take a rest for a while and recuperate.”
Meanwhile, Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, a close contact of the vice mayor, said he had tested negative for the virus.
“I’m negative, had my test earlier,” he told reporters in a Viber message. “Health protocol now is being done.”
