TUGUEGARAO CITY – After a brief lull in the past weeks, the Cagayan Valley Medical Center has been swarmed anew with COVID-19 patients, the hospital chief said on Friday.
“Again, the CVMC is overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients, owing to the sharp and doubled increase in barely two weeks,” Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao, CVMC hospital chief said.
He said the facility’s census on Friday morning was 156 patients—121 of them COVID-19 positive, while the 35 others are COVID-19 suspects.
“Our health workers are again working double time to attend to patients. We are facing difficulties due to the influx but we have to work hard for our duties,” he added.
“We just hope that the Delta variant is still out here in Cagayan as only the case in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya has been confirmed, so far,” Baggao added.
Among those cities and towns with bulk of cases include Tuguegarao with 57 patients, Gattaran (Cagayan) with six patients, Amulung with five, City of Ilagan (Isabela) with five, Baggao (Cagayan) with four and Tumauini (Isabela) with four patients.
