SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — At least 150 residents of two villages in San Marcelino town received the single-shot Janssen coronavirus vaccine during a mobile vaccination drive on Thursday (Aug. 5).
The vaccine recipients from the villages of Aglao and Buhawen were the second batch of residents who benefited from the town’s mobile vaccine rollout, according to the San Marcelino Public Information Office.
A team of health workers, headed by Dr. Earl Yap, municipal health officer, and Dr. Giselle Paje-Ragadio led the mass vaccination of senior citizens and those with comorbidity, or other diseases that increase the chance of dying of COVID-19.
Last week, a batch of 150 vaccine recipients on the priority list were injected also through San Marcelino’s mobile vaccine program.
Aside from the Janssen vaccine produced by Johnson & Johnson, San Marcelino has been administering Coronavac, the vaccine made in China where the virus originated, and AstraZeneca.
