MANILA, Philippines — Another 1 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by China’s Sinovac Biotech named CoronaVac were delivered to the Philippines on Thursday.

The latest batch of jabs arrived around 7 p.m. via a Philippine Airlines flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. welcomed the arrival of the government-procured vaccine doses.

The recent delivery brings the COVID-19 vaccine doses received by the Philippines since February to 38.2 million.

On Thursday, authorities reported that the country has breached the 10-million mark for individuals fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the serious respiratory illness caused by new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which was first detected in China’s Wuhan province in late 2019.
