MANILA, Philippines — The National Task Force against COVID-19 (NTF) on Wednesday dispelled circulating posts that the entire Calabarzon or Region 4-A would also be placed under the most restrictive enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) like Metro Manila.

“Wala pong desisyon na ganyan,” NTF deputy chief implementer and testing czar Vince Dizon said in a televised briefing when asked about rumors that Calabarzon would be placed under ECQ.

(There’s no such decision.)

According to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) announcements for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, only Metro Manila would be under ECQ from August 6 to 20, 2021.

In Calabarzon, only Laguna and Lucena City in Quezon are under the second most restrictive modified enhanced community quarantine until August 15.

Meanwhile, Cavite and Rizal are under general community quarantine (GCQ) “with heightened restrictions” while Batangas and Quezon are under GCQ until August 15.
