SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — At least 686 more residents in this province have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Tuesday (Aug. 3), health officials said.
According to Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, 146 of these residents received their second dose of AstraZeneca or Sinovac vaccines while 540 residents received the single-dose Janssen vaccine of Johnson & Johnson.
To date, the province vaccinated a total of 39,195 residents. Of this number, 32,625 are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
At least 6,570 more residents who were given the first dose of AstraZeneca and Sinonavac vaccine are still waiting to receive their second dose.
A total of 71,820 doses of vaccines have already been administered in the province (24,333 AstraZeneca, 38,115 Sinovac, and 9,372 Janssen)
The province needs to vaccinate 400,000 of its 590,800 residents to achieve herd immunity.
