Angeles City has 20 new cases, 5 deaths from COVID-19
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––Angeles City has 20 new COVID-19 cases and five more deaths due to COVID-19 complications.
The city government announced Monday, Aug. 2, that 18 persons have recovered from the virus.
In its latest bulletin, Angeles said two of the fatalities were from Barangay Malabanias and one from Cutud, Pandan, and Tabun villages each.
It recorded a total of 7,426 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 6,677 have recovered, while 327 have died.
The city currently has 422 active cases, local data showed.
Article continues after this advertisementBarangay Sto. Domingo, the city’s southernmost village that borders the City of San Fernando, has the most active cases at 58. The city’s biggest village of Balibago follows with 48 and Barangay Pampang with 34.
Angeles Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. has tightened border controls in the city by installing police checkpoints in all its entry points and along the exits of the North Luzon Expressway.
