MANILA, Philippines — Individuals who were mistakenly given a different COVID-19 vaccine brand for their second dose have so far not reported any adverse effects, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said on Saturday.

The inadvertent mixing of vaccine brands was reported to have taken place in the Davao region and Mandaluyong City. Vergeire said the Department of Health (DOH) had been keeping tabs on the condition of the individuals who received different vaccine brands.

“Up to now, we monitor them every day, and there has been no untoward adverse reaction reported,” Vergeire said. To avoid the same mistake, the DOH advised vaccination sites to administer only one brand per day.
