Over 17 percent of Central Luzon cops now fully vaccinated vs COVID-19
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Some 2,598 of the 14,626 uniformed police officers in Central Luzon have been vaccinated against COVID-19, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Health Service disclosed on Friday, July 30.
The number comprises 17.76 percent of the police officers in the region under the PRO3 and police regional support units.
The regional health service said some 5, 918 or 40.46 percent of the police officers in Central Luzon received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccines as of July 30.
It said 591 of the Central Luzon police officers were vaccinated by the PRO3 medical and dental unit, while 5,901 got their vaccination from the local government units where they are assigned.
The regional health service said the PRO3 has 12,533 personnel while the regional support units have 2,093 personnel in Central Luzon.
Article continues after this advertisementA total of 1,944 police officers in the region have contracted COVID-19 since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 1,867 have recovered, while five have died. There are still 72 active cases as of July 30, including the 12 new cases recorded on the same day.
