Delta variant detected in Bulacan
CITY OF MALOLOS—The province of Bulacan recorded its first case of the more transmissible Delta variant of COVID-19, Gov. Daniel Fernando disclosed on Thursday (July 29).
Fernando said the patient is a resident in San Ildefonso town and has already recovered after undergoing quarantine.
Dr. Hjordis Marushka Celis, Bulacan provincial COVID-19 task force assistant head, said the patient tested positive for the COVID-19 on July 10 but had no travel history except for a medical check-up in Metro Manila.
Fernando has called on Bulacan residents to comply with stricter health protocols following the detection of the Delta variant.
So far, Bulacan has recorded 43,047 COVID-19 cases, 41, 043 recoveries and 917 deaths since last year.
