MANILA, Philippines – President Benigno Aquino III said Thursday he and radio-TV personality Grace Lee, whom he recently admitted to be dating, were doing well but asked the public to respect the privacy of the South Korean woman’s family.

Asked by a law student during a “town-hall” discussion how he and Lee were, Mr. Aquino said, “Maayos naman [We’re fine].”

He then asked people who were curious about his relationship with Lee to spare her family from their inquisitiveness.

Mr. Aquino said Lee’s mother has had to pretend to be a customer in her own grocery store to evade those who went into the establishment to want to know more about Lee’s family.

“Nahaharass po yung mga walang kinalaman; kawawa naman [The innocent are getting harassed; pity them],” President Aquino said.
