American facing trafficking, child abuse raps nabbed in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga––Policemen arrested Tuesday an American national facing charges for alleged human trafficking and child abuse during an operation in Barangay Malabanias in this city.

In a statement, Col. Rommel Batangan, this city’s police director, identified the suspect as Nickolas Gabriel Pyant, 61, a resident of Clarkview Residences Subdivision in Malabanias.

Batangan said Pyant was the subject of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Gemma Theresa Hilarion-Logronio of the Olongapo City Family Court Branch 12.

He is facing charges for 18 counts of violation of the Anti-Trafficking In Persons Act of 2003 and 18 counts of violation of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
