Mega vaccination site at Nayong Pilipino to open in August
MANILA, Philippines — A government mega vaccination hub that can administer as many as 10,000 COVID-19 vaccines daily will open next month, after the project in a Nayong Pilipino property was stalled for months due to opposition from environmental advocates and even from Nayong Pilipino’s own board.
“Yes, it will definitely push through. Opening [is in] August,” said Vince Dizon, deputy chief secretary of the National Task Force Against COVID-19, on Sunday.
The Supreme Court last week junked a petition to stop the project, clearing any legal impediment for civil works on a reclaimed area in Parañaque City.
Business tycoon Enrique Razon Jr. had offered to build a P250-million drive-through and walk-in vaccination facility on a portion of the 10-hectares reclaimed land near the Entertainment City.
