A repeat of the Cory years?
If president Noy doesn’t watch his back, history might repeat itself.
He might have to deal with rebellions or mutinies the same way his mother, President Cory, had to contend with several attempted coups.
I have been receiving text messages that go like this: “CPP/NPA/NDF led by P-Noy adviser (name omitted) are d ones running d government. D 24B (24 billion) pesos CCT (conditional cash transfer) is being used in their operations to grab power.”
I am sure countless others have received that kind of text message.
I heard from the grapevine that some personalities are going around and telling people in government of the plans to oust P-Noy.
The text messages and reports about destabilization plots are probably aimed at conditioning people’s minds on what to expect.
I see a repetition of the Cory years during which reports about communists in her government (there were no text messages then) were spread by word of mouth before the 1986 and 1989 coup attempts.

I am not a fan of P-Noy but he is our constitutional leader and he should be allowed to finish his term.
The President may be a slow learner in governance, but he’s sincere and honest just like his mother.
He may be a little, well, lazy but he can overcome it with proper guidance.
P-Noy is so unlike his two immediate predecessors who abused their power.
Let’s rally behind the President should there be an attack on his leadership.

If the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority really wants to ease traffic on Edsa, the main artery of the metropolis, it might consider reducing the number of buses plying the Edsa route.
At any given hour, except during rush hours, buses on Edsa are half-full.
And since there are only a few passengers, the buses compete for fares.
As a result, they cluster around bus stops, resulting in heavy traffic.
Competing for the few fares has also resulted in accidents as bus drivers weave in and out of traffic and sometimes sideswipe drivers of other vehicles.
Reducing the number of buses on Edsa during the slack hours is easy and yet the MMDA hasn’t done it.

Somebody who claims to be me has been calling up or texting public officials, especially politicians, and asking for money.
I don’t go around calling people to ask for money for my medical missions.
I don’t have any son named Rey Tulfo to whom the money should be sent via Western Union.
The impostor has already duped a lot of public officials, and I’m sorry they fell victim to the impostor.
I have long asked the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to help me catch the impostor but the NBI seems to be dragging its foot on the matter.
