11 rescued from capsized vessel off Albay
PIO DURAN, Albay – Eleven crew members of a passenger vessel which capsized off Albay were rescued on Saturday amid inclement weather due to the southwest monsoon.
Police Master Seargent Sammy Sionicio of the Pio Duran police said in a phone interview that the 11 crew members are now safe.
“The boat came from Claveria, Masbate and was advised by PCG (Philippine Coast Guard) to take shelter for safety but strong waves struck that vessel that resulted to incident,” Noel Ordoña, Pio Duran disaster office chief said.
The PCG said further investigation is ongoing.,
