CITY OF CALAPAN – Fifty-three bags of hair were donated by Philippine National Police (PNP) female applicants for cancer patients needing wigs during the launch of BARANGAYanihan “Alay ni Tay at Nay” (Share Your Hair)  program of the Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan (Mimaropa) police at the regional office here on Friday afternoon.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Imelda Tolentino, Mimaropa police information officer, said the project’s partners are Police Officers’ Ladies Club Mimaropa, Soroptimist International Kabayan and the Hair for Hope which is in partnership with Makati Medical Center and Asian Hospital that provides free wigs to cancer patients.

The project eyes female applicants who will undergo training for the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course.

Instead of going to salons or barber shops to get their haircut to comply with the standard length of hair, they get the service for free at the event in exchange for donation.
