Glitch shows zero deaths in DOH tally
A glitch resulted in zero COVID-19 deaths in the daily case update of the Department of Health (DOH) on Friday.
The DOH said the “technical issues” would be resolved with help from the Department of Information and Communications Technology. The death toll on Thursday was 26,891.
The DOH recorded 6,845 new COVID-19 cases, the biggest in a single day since June 26 when it was 6,871. This raised the case count to 1,520,097 on Friday.
The 2,330 patients who recovered increased the number of survivors to 1,455,137, the DOH said.
There were 55,069 active cases as of Friday. Of the total, 93.4 were mild cases, 1.3 percent asymptomatic, 1.4 percent critical, 2.3 percent severe and 1.6 percent moderate.
The DOH also recorded 472,356 COVID-19 vaccine shots administered on Thursday, the most in a single day since March. —Patricia Denise M. Chiu
