Taal Volcano update: 95 quakes detected in last 24 hours; Alert Level 3 stays
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 95 volcanic earthquakes were recorded from Taal Volcano in the past 24 hours, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said Friday.
Of the 95 earthquakes, Phivolcs said 68 of these lasted for one to 17 minutes.

Taal Volcano continues to emit high levels of volcanic sulfur dioxide (SO2) with 5,286 tons recorded, the Phivolcs added.
Meanwhile, Alert Level 3 remains in effect.

The public is reminded that entry is strictly prohibited in Taal Volcano Island, Taal’s permanent danger zone, and high-risk barangays in Agoncillo and Laurel in Batangas.
