PH receives 1 million more doses of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine
MANILA, Philippines — One million more doses of CoronaVac, the COVID-19 vaccine developed by China’s Sinovac, were delivered to the Philippines on Friday.
The latest batch of jabs arrived past 7:35 a.m. via a Cebu Pacific flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
On Thursday, 1.5 million doses of the same vaccine were also delivered to the country.
The total number of CoronaVac doses so far delivered to the Philippines is at 17 million, 15.1 million of which procured by the government, 900,000 procured by the private sector and 1 million donated by the Chinese government.
The Philippine government has secured a total of 164 million vaccine doses from different manufacturers this year, which includes donations from the COVAX facility and other countries.
