MANILA, Philippines — At least 500 grams of crystal meth or shabu were seized during an anti-drug operation at Quiapo, Manila on Thursday, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
Reports from PDEA showed that the buy-bust operation conducted by agents of the agency’s Region IV-A office was done at a home supply shop in Quiapo.
The operation’s targets were suspects identified as Allan Taha Usman and Rocky Pablo Cornelio.
PDEA’s photos also revealed that the crystal-like substance was placed in a single air-tight plastic bag, while agents also recovered an unspecified amount of P1,000 bills believed to be part of the marked money used to purchase the illegal substances.
Suspects will face charges for allegedly violating Section 5 (Sale and Trade of Dangerous Drugs) in relation to Section 26 (Attempt or Conspiracy) of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
