COVID-19 cases in Olongapo City soar anew

OLONGAPO CITY—At least 14 new cases of COVID-19 were added Wednesday to the growing list of infections in this city.

Citing the latest bulletin from the local task force, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said the 14 new patients, aged 16 to 19 years old, raised to 191 the city’s active cases.

The city has registered 2,817 infections since last year, but 2,469 of these were recoveries. These reflect an 87.6-percent recovery rate.

For two consecutive days, the city has not logged any COVID-19 related fatalities. Its death toll remained at 157.
