MANILA, Philippines — The presidential and vice-presidential tandem of Senator Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente Sotto III are considering “four or five names,” including one “big personality,” to complete its senatorial line-up for the 2022 elections.
“To be very candid about it, there are about four or five names that we’re looking at and all five names are experienced [in legislating],” Sotto told reporters in an online interview.
For instance, the Senate president said that he and Lacson are currently in talks with someone “big.”
“Meron kaming kausap na malaking tao eh, baka sa Sabado magkasundo kami,” Sotto said.
On Wednesday, Sotto bared 10 personalities included in the pair’s senatorial ticket for the coming polls.

Among these senatorial bets include returning and reelectionist senators.
Former Elections Commissioner Gregorio “Goyo” Larrazabal and Leyte Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez are also included in Lacson and Sotto’s senatorial slate.

“He’s a former Comelec commissioner, iba ang pulso sa election no’n. In the last two years, he’s been going around the country, getting to know people,” Sotto said of Larrazabal.
The Lacson-Sotto tandem, the first to confirm their 2022 bids, will need two more to complete their senatorial ticket.
