A woman, who had her 11-year-old daughter with her, crashed after intentionally driving at high speed and is now facing multiple charges.
The 31-year-old mother, whose identity was withheld, was driving at over 100 mph in Ohio in the United States at midnight of June 15 when the crash occurred, as per Fox affiliate WJW on July 13.
The woman reportedly hit another car at high speed, causing her car to spin uncontrollably and knock down several power lines, a utility pole and then crash into a house with her daughter in the front passenger seat.
Police arrived at the scene and took the mother and daughter to the hospital. The driver of the car hit by the woman was not injured.
Upon checking on her at the hospital, authorities also did not detect any sign of impairment from drugs or alcohol, according to the report.
She admitted to police, however, that she intentionally drove at high speed and through a red light to “test her faith in God.” She revealed that she had been going through “trials and tribulations” after being fired from her job.
The woman recalled to police that she “let go and let God take the wheel,” as per police report cited by the news outlet.
The child has since been taken to a children’s hospital and the mother is now facing multiple charges including felony assault, endangering a child and driving under suspension. Ian Biong /ra
