Olongapo logs 30 new COVID-19 cases; recovery rate still at 87 percent

OLONGAPO CITY—The number of active cases in this city was back to the 200-mark in the past two days as the daily new infections continued to rise, local data showed on Sunday (July 18).

The local COVID-19 task force tally shows that 30 new infections were registered over the weekend, raising the current active cases in the city to 205. The new patients are aged 27 to 59 years old.

But the city’s COVID-19 recovery rate was still at 87 percent since 2,416 of the 2,777 infections recorded since last year had healed from the viral disease.

No deaths related to COVID-19 were listed on Sunday, but one fatality was logged last Saturday, which raised the city’s death toll to 156.
