Palace: PH administers record-high 391,283 COVID-19 vaccine doses in one day

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines has surpassed its highest COVID-19 vaccinations in a day after administering over 391,000 doses, Malacañang said Friday.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the country administered 391,283 doses on Thursday alone, exceeding its previous record of 375,059.

“Nasa 391,283 ang naitalang daily jabs kahapon. Ito po ang pinakamataas na naabot natin so far,” Roque said in an announcement aired over state-run People’s Television Network.

The government is aiming to administer 500,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses daily to vaccinate at least 70 percent of the country’s population by the end of the year.

Overall, the Philippines has administered over 14 million COVID-19 vaccine doses with over four million individuals already fully vaccinated.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said the government is expected to fully vaccinate seven million people by the end of July.
