DOH: COVID-19 death toll now 26,314 with 82 new fatalities

MANILA, Philippines — Eighty-two more COVID-19 patients have died, bringing to 26,314 the number of patients who succumbed to the coronavirus as of Thursday.

According to the DOH, the case fatality rate remains at 1.77 percent of all the 1,490,665 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country.

From this number, 45,495 cases remain active, of which 2.8 percent are severe and 1.7 percent are critical that are at higher risk for death.

FEATURED STORIES

The majority or 91.4 percent of cases are mild, 2.1 percent are asymptomatic, and 1.96 percent are moderate cases.

The DOH reported an average of 95 deaths from the period of July 9 to 14, as compared to the 122 deaths from July 2 to 8.
