Over 250,000 more Moderna vaccine doses arrive in PH

More moderna vaccines arrive in Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — Over 250,000 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine arrived in the Philippines on Thursday.

According to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), the flight carrying the doses landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) at 12:54 p.m.

The vaccines were procured by the government and the private sector. This is the second batch of Moderna vaccines that were delivered to the country.

The first batch, comprising 249,600 doses, arrived in the Philippines on June 27.

The Philippines procured at least 20 million doses of the Moderna vaccine — 13 million doses procured by the government and 7 million doses by the private sector. All 20 million doses are expected to arrive within the year.

At least 4 million people are already fully vaccinated or have already received two vaccine doses against COVID-19.
