Siblings busted for ‘shabu’ worth P130,000 in Taguig City
MANILA, Philippines — A pair of siblings in Taguig City was arrested after yielding some P136,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) during a buy-bust operation at dawn on Thursday.
Police said they confiscated 44 sachets of suspected crystal meth weighing at least 20 grams from suspects Melchor Micaller, a construction worker, and his sister Ronalyn. They were arrested by the Taguig City police’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit along Sampaguita Street in Western Bicutan at 3 a.m.
Also seized in the operation was a P500 bill used as buy-bust money.
Police said the recovered illegal drugs were turned over to the Southern Police District’s Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis.
A complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is being prepared against the suspects. — Faith Yuen Wei Ragasa
