DOH reports 140 more COVID-19 deaths

MANILA, Philippines — Another 140 patients have died of CIVID-19, raising the country’s death count to 26,232 as of Wednesday.
The Department of Health (DOH) reported that the deaths now account for 1.77 percent of all the 1,485,457 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country.
Based on previous case bulletins, the DOH reported an average of 111 deaths over the last seven days, from July 8 to 14. Meanwhile, an average of 114 deaths was logged from July 1 to 7.
According to DOH, 44,408 of the 1.4 million confirmed cases remain active infections. Of this number, 2.8 percent are severe and 1.7 percent are critical, and are at a higher risk of death.
The majority or 90 percent are mild, 3.5 percent are asymptomatic, and 1.95 percent are moderate.
