Pedestrian dies after motorcycle driven by soldier hit her in Quezon

LUCENA CITY – A 74-year-old woman pedestrian died after she was hit by a motorcycle driven by an Army soldier in San Narciso town in Quezon province on Monday night, police said Tuesday.

San Narciso police in a report said the victim, Trinidad Riya, while walking on the side of the road was accidentally bumped by a motorcycle being ridden by Jero Morados in Barangay Binay around 7 p.m.

The victim died on the way to the hospital from fatal body injuries.

Morados, 28, a soldier assigned with the Army’s 85th Infantry Battalion based in the said town, sustained injuries.

The suspect remains under the custody of the police station.
