8 Quezon drug suspects busted

LUCENA CITY – Police busted eight drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations in Quezon province on Saturday.

Police Colonel Joel Villanueva, Quezon police chief, in a report said anti-illegal drugs operatives arrested Leo Armiendo, Jasmin Abueg, Edwin Ablaza and Rizalde Dagohoy, after the group sold a pack of shabu (crystal meth) to a police agent in Barangay Talipan in Pagbilao town around 4:30 a.m.

Authorities seized five plastic sachets of shabu with a street value of P176,664.

Police tagged Leo as the alleged leader of “Armiendo drug group” operating in Pagbilao and nearby areas.

The police are conducting further investigation to determine the source of the illegal drugs being distributed by the syndicate.

In Sariaya town, police collared Kristian Christopher Gicana and Niro Cada in another drug sting at around 9:30 p.m. The suspects yielded three sachets of shabu worth an estimated P9,184 and a motorcycle.

Police Leuitenant Colonel Romulo Albacea, Lucena police chief, reported the arrest of Myra Monette Quijano, included in the police drug watch list, and Babyruth Pancho in Barangay Ibabang Dupay around 12:15 p.m.

The suspects yielded five sachets of shabu worth around P12,240 in the street market.

All suspects were detained and are facing formal compalints for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
