PDEA arrests 2 drug suspects, seizes 500 grams of meth in Zamboanga del Sur

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — Authorities arrested two individuals allegedly selling crystal meth in a buy-bust operation Thursday (July 8) in Aurora town, Zamboanga del Sur.

Cesario Judilla Jr., chief of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Zamboanga del Sur, identified the suspects as Jamael Omar, of Iligan City; and Salimah Ampuan Amer, of Marawi City.

The suspects agreed to sell meth to an undercover agent in an undisclosed location in the town center. As the transaction was consummated, authorities swooped in to arrest the suspects.

Judilla said five large cellophane packs containing meth were seized from the suspects, in all weighing some 500 grams. It could fetch up to P3.4 million when sold on retail.

Judilla said the operation was done with the local police.

The suspects were placed under the custody of Aurora municipal police while charges are being readied against them.
