9 more Mabalacat City residents die of COVID-19

Mountain Province logs highest single-day spike of COVID-19 cases

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––Nine more residents in this city have succumbed to COVID-19, the city government said Thursday.

The latest fatalities include a resident of Barangay Camachiles, one from Dapdap, another from Sta. Maria, two from Mabiga, and four from the Mawaque resettlement Center.

Their deaths brought to 116 the number of persons in this city who have died from the viral disease since the pandemic began last year.

As of July 8, a total of 3,809 cases have been reported here, of which 158 were active, while 3,535 have recovered.

On Thursday, the city also recorded eight new active cases and 32 recoveries.

Dau, the biggest village here, has the most active cases at 45, followed by San Francisco with 20, and Mabiga with 19. INQ
