2 suspects yield P160K dried marijuana leaves in Nueva Ecija

SAN LEONARDO, Nueva Ecija – Police here arrested two suspected drug traders who yielded P160,000 worth of dried marijuana leaves during a buy-bust operation on Tuesday (July 6) morning.

Col. Jaime Santos, provincial police director, identified the suspects as Garry Nagaño, 33, a driver from Talavera town, and Alex Benigno, 30, a native of Tuao town in Cagayan province .

Santos said the operation was carried out by operatives of San Leonardo municipal police station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Barangay Diversion around 11 a.m.

Police seized about 2.97 kilos of dried marijuana leaves from the suspects after the duo sold a sachet of dried marijuana leaves to an undercover agent.

After the arrest, police also confiscated four bricks of dried marijuana leaves from the suspects.

Police also recovered the P500 marked bill used in the buy-bust.
