NUP to renew alliance with Hugpong
MANILA, Philippines — The National Unity Party (NUP) will renew its alliance with Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) for the 2022 elections.
Reggie Velasco, spokesperson and deputy secretary general for political affairs of NUP, said on Tuesday their party was just setting the date for the signing of the memorandum of agreement between the two parties.
Under the agreement, Velasco said HNP and NUP would have a common candidate for President, Vice President and senators. NUP has 40 members at the House of Representatives.
