MANILA, Philippines — The Muntinlupa City government on Monday said its vaccination centers will no longer accept walk-ins starting today, July 5, due to the limited supply of COVID-19 shots.
It emphasized that, for now, all of its vaccination hubs will only accommodate those who registered online and were notified via text message about their inoculation schedule.
“Dahil sa limitadong supply ng bakuna, lahat ng ating vaccination sites ay hindi tatanggap ng walk-in simula July 5,” the local government announced via a post on its Facebook page MunCoVac.
(Due to the limited supply of vaccines, all of our vaccination sites will not accept walk-ins anymore starting July 5.)
“Magpapatuloy po ang ating vaccination basta’t mayroon tayong supply ng bakuna,” it likewise said.
(Our vaccination will continue as long as there’s a supply of the vaccine.)
The city government, however, said the national government’s delivery of additional vaccines will arrive anytime in the coming days.
As of July 2, Muntinlupa City said it has dispensed 190,747 doses of various COVID-19 vaccines. Of this, 149,585 individuals have been inoculated with the first dose – which is 38.8 percent of the local government unit’s target to attain herd immunity – while 41,162 individuals have been fully vaccinated.
Muntinlupa targets to inoculate this year 385,725 residents, which is 70 percent of its 551,036 total population to achieve herd immunity.
