MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Six residents of the biggest village here succumbed to COVID-19, the city government disclosed on Thursday, July 1.
The six fatalities were residents of Barangay Dau where three new cases were also reported. The village has 700 COVID-19 cases, including 37 active infections.
So far, Dau has registered 643 recoveries and 20 deaths since the start of the pandemic last year.
Mabalacat City has a total of 3,680 COVID-19 cases with 3,380 recoveries and 193 deaths. It registered 16 new cases and 14 new recoveries on Thursday.
In the City of San Fernando, the local government said a resident of Barangay Malpitic died on Thursday due to COVID-19.
The capital city recorded 21 new cases, bringing the total cases to 5,483. It has 4,838 recoveries while the death toll stands at 179.
Barangay Calulut has the most active cases at 70, followed by Bulaon at 58, while Sindalan has 38 active cases.
