Makati runs out of vaccines for A4

The Makati City government has suspended the vaccination of economic front-liners scheduled for July 1 due to the lack of COVID-19 vaccines.
In a statement on its official social media accounts on Wednesday, the city government said the postponement was due to the national government’s failure to deliver vaccine doses for those in the A4 category.
There was no announcement on when the vaccination drive would resume.
The local government, however, said those affected by the suspension would be prioritized and would receive a text message informing them of their new schedule.
On Monday, the city government said it only had 126 vaccine doses left for those belonging to the A4 priority group. That same day, however, the country received 1 million doses of Sinovac and 249,600 doses of Moderna.
The Taguig City government also suspended its vaccination drive on Monday and Tuesday after it was informed by the Department of Health that the required certificate of analysis (COA) for the newly delivered Sinovac vaccines had yet to be released.
“In accordance with the ethical standards of the current good manufacturing practice regulation of the Food and Drug Administration, any COVID-19 vaccine should have a COA as part of the quality assurance and safety prior to its use,” the city’s vaccination task force said in a memorandum.
Taguig resumed its vaccination rollout on Wednesday after the release of the certificate. INQ
