LPA spotted east of extreme N. Luzon; fair weather expected nationwide

MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted off the eastern part of extreme northern Luzon outside the Philippine area of responsibility, the state weather bureau said Wednesday.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA, last spotted 1,860 kilometers of extreme northern Luzon as of 3 am, is unlikely to cause weather disturbance in the country.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to have fair weather condition, with a possibility of isolated rain showers due to isolated thunderstorms, according to Pagasa.

“Base po sa ating analysis, mababa ang chance nitong LPA na maging isang bagyo,” said weather specialist Benison Estareja.

(Based on our analysis, the LPA has a low chance of becoming a typhoon.)

“Nakikita natin na ‘yung north westward na movement nito, possible hangang bukas, araw ng Thursday,  ay pumasok ito sa northeastern boundary ng ating PAR,” he added.

Pagasa said the LPA may disintegrate immediately after entering PAR.

In Luzon, Metro Manila is projected to have temperatures ranging from 25 to 34 degrees Celsius; Tagaytay City at 22 to 31 degrees Celsius; Baguio City at 16 to 25 degrees Celsius; Laoag City at 25 to 33 degrees Celsius; Legazpi City at 26 to 34 degrees Celsius; Tugegarao City at 25 to 36 degrees Celsius; and Puerto Princesa City, with 26 to 33 degrees Celsius.

In Visayas, Cebu is projected to have temperatures ranging from 25 to 33 degrees Celsius; Iloilo, 26 to 33 degrees Celsius; and Tacloban at 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.

In Mindanao, Zamboanga City would have 24 to 34 degrees Celsius; Cagayan de Oro, 25 to 33 degrees Celsius; and 25 to 33 degrees Celsius in Davao City.

Meanwhile, no gale warning is raised on any country’s waters with all seas in the country expected to have slight to moderate sea condition.
