MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and the rest of the country may experience overcast skies with isolated rain anytime from Tuesday evening until Wednesday late afternoon due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms.

Based on the 24-hour forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued at 4 p.m. Tuesday, the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, is affecting the extreme Northern Luzon.

Residents in this area are warned that flash floods or landslides may occur due to severe thunderstorms.

Pagasa also said light to moderate winds will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon, which may bring some slight to moderate coastal waters conditions. The same situation may be anticipated for the rest of the country’s seas.

The state weather service further said the sun had set at 6:29 p.m. on Tuesday while sunrise on Wednesday will be at 5:30 a.m. as moonrise on Tuesday will be at 10:38 p.m. and moonset at 10:36 a.m. on Wednesday.

Pagasa likewise said it recorded on Tuesday a minimum temperature of 24.8°C at 5:10 a.m. as well as a maximum temperature of 34.0°C at 1:50 p.m. at the Science Garden weather station in Diliman, Quezon City.
