Bataan is set to get a new member in the House of Representatives after President Duterte signed into law the measure creating a third legislative district in the province. Under Republic Act No. 11553, the third legislative district would encompass Bagac, Morong, Dinalupihan, and Mariveles. The first district would cover Hermosa, Orani, Samal and Abucay, while the second district would cover the City of Balanga, Orion, Pilar and Limay. The reapportionment of the three legislative districts would take place in the next national and local elections after the effectivity of the new law. The incumbent Bataan representatives will continue to hold office until the new representatives have been elected.
