MANILA, Philippines — Partly cloudy to cloudy weather is expected on Tuesday on Luzon, including Metro Manila, with scattered rainfall expected in the afternoons and evenings due to localized thunderstorms caused by the southwest monsoon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) also added the rain currently falling in Metro Manila and parts of Luzon as a result of localized thunderstorms is likely to persist into tonight.

“Ngayong gabi asahan nga ‘yung mga pulo pulong dagliang pagulan, na may kasamang pagkidlat at pagkulob lalong lalo na sa mga lalawigan dito sa kanlurang bahagi ng Luzon dahil nga sa posibleng epekto ng habagat,” Pagasa Senior Weather Specialist Chris Perez said.

On the other hand, Visayas and Mindanao are expected to enjoy warmer weather on Tuesday, though thunderstorms are still likely to bring rain showers in the afternoon until evening.

The forecast temperature range in key cities/areas:

Metro Manila: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius

Baguio City: 16 to 24 degrees Celsius

Laoag City:  25 to 31 degrees Celsius

Tuguegarao: 24 to 36 degrees Celsius

Legazpi City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius

Puerto Princesa City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius

Tagaytay: 22 to 30 degrees Celsius

Kalayaan Islands: 27 to 32 degrees Celsius

Iloilo City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius

Cebu: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius

Tacloban City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius

Cagayan De Oro City: 23 to 33 degrees Celsius

Zamboanga City: 23 to 33 degrees Celsius

Davao City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius

Pagasa has not issued any gale warning, but it warned of rough seas in the northern coastline of Luzon due to the southwest monsoon.

Offshore thunderstorm activities should also be expected in the western seas of the country.

Meanwhile, Habagat is still forecast to hit parts of Luzon but no typhoon is expected to form or hit the Philippines after that.
