2 in Bago City meted 40 years in jail for molesting girl, killing another

BACOLOD CITY––Two residents of Bago City in Negros Occidental were found guilty of different crimes and ordered jailed for 40 years.
Judge Frances Guanzon of the Regional Trial Court Branch 62 meted the penalty of reclusion perpetua on John Mark Daquitil de Guzman for molesting a 17-year-old girl five times in Barangay Ma-ao, Bago City in May 2018.
De Guzman, a butcher, was also ordered to pay the complainant P75,000 in moral damages.
Robert Vicente Sevilla was found guilty of killing Jose Jacinto Villena Jr. in Barangay Sampinit, Bago City, on April 20, 2017.
He was ordered to pay the heirs of Villena P75,000 as indemnity for the victim’s death.
Sevilla of Barangay Busay, Bago City, shot Villena on the head.
The judge ordered the immediate transfer of De Guzman and Sevilla to the National Penitentiary in Muntinlupa.
