USC South on a roll
THERE IS NO place like home. Such was the battlecry of the University of San Carlos-South after they won all of their games during the 2012 ThreeSixty Pharmacy Cup that was held at the USC South basketball court last Sunday as part of the Family Day activities.
In the elite 16-under class, USC South clobbered Don Bosco by a whopping 30 points, 62-32, to grab the top seed in group B. The win kept USC South undefeated heading to the crucial semifinal round on later this month. Don Bosco, on the other hand, remained winless in three outings. The Cebu Eastern College is at the top in group A while the University of the Visayas is in second place.
The 13-under class saw USC South tie the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu at the top of the standings after they won, 45-20, over Don Bosco. Both SHS-AdC and USC South own identical 2-0 marks.
Finally, in the 10-under division, USC South walloped the University of San Jose-Recoletos, 24-13, for their third win in four games. Their victory allowed them to tie sister team, USC North at the top with identical 3-1 records. However, USC South remains in second place by virtue of the winner-over-the-other rule. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
