12-year-old dengue patient tests positive for COVID-19 in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––A 12-year-old boy afflicted with dengue in Subic town tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, June 24, an official said.

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said the boy contracted the virus with his 48-year-old father.

Bueno said the two had a fever and underwent a reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test.

They are among the 20 new COVID-19 cases in the province.

To date, Zambales has 3,269 total cases since last year, and 625 are still active.

The province also logged 2,568 recoveries and 75 deaths. INQ
