6,043 new COVID-19 cases raise PH’s active cases to 51,410
MANILA, Philippines — The country reported 6,043 more coronavirus infections on Thursday, bringing its current total active cases to 51,410.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), there are now 1,378,260 cumulative confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country, of which 3.7 percent are active infections.
Meanwhile, there were also 4,486 more patients who have recovered. The total number of patients who have survived the disease is now 1,302,814.
However, 108 more people were added to the death count, which now stands at 24,036, or 1.74 percent of the tally.
On positivity rate, the DOH said 12 percent of the 46,497 people who were tested were found positive for coronavirus.
All laboratories were operational on Tuesday, while one laboratory was not able to submit their data. The DOH said the non-reporting laboratory contributes 0.35 percent of samples tested and 0.24 percent of positive individuals, based on data in the last 14 days.
Article continues after this advertisementFifteen duplicates, including nine recoveries, were removed from the case count, while 44 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were validated to be active cases and 61 cases earlier counted as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
