Drug suspect killed in Albay shootout
LEGAZPI CITY— A drug suspect was killed on Tuesday afternoon in a shootout with the police during a drug bust in an upland village in Daraga town in Albay province, a police report said Wednesday.
Norkasan Samporna, a resident of this city and a high-value target (HVT) illegal drug peddler, was the subject of a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay (village) Budiao at around 4:15 p.m., according to Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson.
The suspect allegedly resisted arrest and engaged the arresting policemen in a gunfight that led to his instant death.
Seized from the suspect was 5 grams of suspected shabu (crystal met) worth P30,000.
