Earthquakes jolt parts of Eastern Visayas.

TACLOBAN CITY—A series of earthquakes on Wednesday shook parts of Eastern Visayas.

A magnitude 3.7 earthquake was felt at 3:16 a.m. in Northern Samar, with the town of Mondragon as the epicenter, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

This was followed by another quake at 3:31 a.m., with a magnitude of 2.3 and a depth of 032 kilometers.

Rei Josiah Echano, provincial disaster risk reduction management officer, said the quakes did not cause any damage.

In Southern Leyte, a series of quakes hit the historic town of Limasawa. The first occurred at 2:35 a.m. with a magnitude of 2.4 and a depth of 008 kilometers. The second was at 4:57 a.m. with a lesser magnitude of 1.7 and a depth of 001 kilometers.

In Eastern Samar, quakes were felt in the towns of Maslog, Lawaan, and Homonhon.

In Lawaan, the quake was felt at 1:11 a.m. with a magnitude of 2.5 and a depth of 037 kilometers. It was followed by another earthquake in Maslog, and Homonhon.

The town of Capoocan in Leyte province also felt a quake at 8:08 a.m.

The Phivolcs said all these quakes did not cause any damage.
