MANILA, Philippines — Only the western parts of Luzon would feel the effects of the southwest monsoon, as most areas in the country would have fair weather conditions, according to the state weather bureau.

The latest updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Tuesday afternoon showed that winds would hit only the Ilocos Region and the western portion of Central Luzon from the southwest monsoon or habagat.

Rains may still be possible in other provinces but Pagasa said that these might be caused only by isolated thunderstorms.  Also, no weather disturbances have been monitored near the Philippine area of responsibility.

Because the habagat is only concentrated in the western part of the country, temperatures over several areas in Luzon may increase slightly for Wednesday.  Metro Manila may have something between 25 to 33 degrees Celsius, Laoag and Legazpi with 24 to 32 degrees, Puerto Princesa with 25 to 32 degrees, and Tuguegarao with 25 to 37 degrees.

Similarly, Visayas and Mindanao would also be warm. Tacloban and Davao have temperatures of 25 to 32 degrees Celsius, Iloilo with 25 to 33 degrees, Cebu with 26 to 32 degrees, Zamboanga with 25 to 34 degrees, and Cagayan de Oro with 24 to 32 degrees.

No gale warning has been raised for the country’s waters, but sea condition for the northernmost seaboards of Luzon would be moderate to rough, while the western coastlines would have a moderate condition.  The rest of the country’s seas would have a slight to moderate condition.
